For our last night in Malaysia we decided to treat ourselves to an air bnb, which meant that we needed to check out of the hostel. Before this we sorted our accommodation for the first couple of nights in Kathmandu, managing to book a triple room in a guesthouse for £7 and then a hostel for the following night.
Afterwards we checked out and moved our stuff to the reception, before heading out. Katie and I got some passport photos printed ready for our Nepalese visa and then the others went to send a letter and check the bus time for the following morning whilst I returned to the market to buy mum some shoes and get a bag. Despite my efforts I hadn't managed to haggle the price down very much but decided I liked it enough to spend a little extra (it is only £12 after all!)
We then met and headed to the metro station. We managed to get the metro the wrong way and then get it back before finally ending up at the right place where we met my friend Michael. We wandered around a fancy mall (which his hotel was in!) and went down to the food court where we got some lunch, and then headed up to use his pool. It was a really nice hilton hotel and felt a world away from our little hostel! It was nice to swim around and cool off a bit.
Around 3.30 we headed back to pick up our bags and move to the air bnb, and it was so nice! We checked in and katie headed off to see KL tower while meg and I went to the gym for a quick workout before getting ready for dinner and putting on some laundry (what a luxury!) We then headed to Dining in the Dark, one of my favourite experiences from my first trip to asia. It involves eating a four course meal in complete darkness with a blind waiter, and is just such a cool and unique thing to do!
Afterwards we found a bar doing ladies night, and since we'd got our uni results for second year earlier that day had a quick drink before heading back to the air bnb! We spent the rest of the evening swimming in the infinity pool and packing before our early wake up.
