Taj Mahal and off to Jaipur

Today started with an early morning trip to see the taj mahal. The ticket office opens at 5 and the taj at 5.30 and we arrived shortly after this. The hostel staff helped us to put our borrowed sarees on which was a huge help as they are a nightmare!! The women who wear them are amazing honestly. There were already a fair few people there, and we spent a couple of hours walking around taking photos and admiring the wonder of the world. It's 1000 rupees entry for foreigners which is expensive by indian standards but for such an amazing building really isn't that much.

When we got back we went back to bed until around 11, when we showered and then headed out for some food. There's a cafe called Sheroes owned by victims of acid attacks and we went here. It's a really great place to support though the food takes quite a while, so by the time we had eaten it was time to get our afternoon train. We went and picked up our bags from the hostel and then headed to the train station ready to go to Jaipur.

The 3-4 hour train journey was uneventful though a bit sweaty, and soon we had arrived. For once our hostel was in walking distance of the train station and so we headed over. This was our cheapest hostel of the trip, 80 rupees each per night. What a bargain! Although the beds were rock solid this was so cheap we couldn't complain. We got dinner at the hostel and then went for a little wander around the shops around it before heading to bed. After such an early start we were shattered.
