Our train to Jodhpur left from Ajmer at 1.20, so we had a morning to fill. A friend who recently went to India had done a jewellery class which we were all keen to do. After heading out for some breakfast we tried to find one, and spent a lot of time unsuccessfully organising one. For some reason none of the places teaching were open, and the one that was said that we needed 3 hours for the class but we only had 2 and a half. Sad times. After a lot of wandering we left our bags in a restaurant near the bus stop and went to get a shake to kill some time. The random shop we ended up in happened to have soya milk and I got an oreo shake which was super exciting as india isn't the most vegan friendly place. We also went in a Sikh temple right near the bus stop which was really beautiful, and soon it was time to leave.
The journey to Ajmer station was much less eventful than last time (no rocks being thrown at us!) and we boarded our train to Jodhpur. It was about a 4 hour journey and made a lot worse as the Indian family sat with us played really loud music out of a speaker for most of the journey. It's a no from me. Fortunately we arrived at around half 5 with our ears still in tact, and ventured out of the station to get a tuk tuk. We arrived at the hostel and checked in, then decided to venture out in search of food. It was about a 25 minute walk to the main area of town, but part of this involved walking along a somewhat main road which wasn't ideal. We survived, and somehow ended up at a slightly pricier than usual rooftop restaurant as we really couldn't find anything else. The views of the fort were amazing.
We got a tuk tuk back after lots of bartering, and just as we got back and settled down to watch a film in the communal area the heavens opened and it started to rain SO hard. It was crazy. The power was off for about an hour which was annoying but fortunately came back on to power the fans before we went to sleep.
