langkawi!

Langkawi is amaaaaazing. It feels like we're back on the island hopping tour! We woke up to toast (loving the free toast in our hostels recently) and headed down to the beach. It's probably a 3 minute walk from our hostel, closer than at home, and the sea is such a pretty blue and the sand is completely white. We spent a couple of hours here sunbathing and swimming (though getting bitten by a million sea lice as usual; they're the microscopic larvae of jellyfish apparently and although not dangerous give you tiny electric shocks if you collide, which I seem too, a lot.

Later we headed off in search of some lunch, and found a bakery very similar to our beloved one from Vietnam and Cambodia. Tragically though a common theme seems to be combining cheese and sugar; I was excitedly picking up a cinammon bun before I realised the thick topping was in fact melted cheese. Whyyy. After this we headed back to the hostel for a bit as it was the hottest part of the day and we didn't want sunstroke.

Late afternoon lauren and i headed back, molly staying in to avoid sunburn, and sunbathed for a while (you'd never guess since I look like im coated in milk). Then we met molly and went out for a curry. I even tried a new one, vegetable Korma, which was very nice. Mum and dad, take note, i can finally eat curry like a normal person. We wandered down the road and saw a woman selling gelato. My plans to be a bit healthier went out of the window and it was soooo good.

We headed back to the hostel for a quiet night trying to use the temperamental Wi-Fi.
